YOONTAEK HONG



Yoontaek Hong is a Korean filmmaker based in both Seoul and Los Angeles. He began his career in the Korean film and TV industry, where he developed a strong foundation in storytelling and visual arts.
Seeking to broaden his professional horizons on a global scale, he moved to Los Angeles in 2022.

He recently graduated from California State University, Long Beach, majoring in Theory and Practice of Cinema with a focus on Creative Nonfiction. He is passionate about exploring the realistic stories of ordinary people and capturing lyrical moments through his unique vision. His work aims to evoke emotions and provide insights into everyday life, fostering empathy and connection among audiences.

His current short documentary film, “Sunchong” has been submitted to  several festivals and special programs, including Sundance and the Student Academy Awards. Additionally, the film was nominated for the Association of Cinematographers’ Guild (ASC) Haskell Wexler Award for Student Achievement in Documentary Cinematography
