YOONTAEK HONG



Yoontaek Hong is a Korean director and cinematographer based in both Seoul and Los Angeles.  He began his career in Korea’s film and television industry, building a strong foundation in visual storytelling. In 2022, he moved to Los Angeles to expand his creative practice internationally.

His films often focus on simple but powerful human experiences, shown through a soft and thoughtful visual style. He works in both documentary and fiction, always looking for honest and meaningful stories to share through his camera.

His recent work, Sunchong, has been featured at the 2024 Mill Valley Film Festival, 2025 NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, and 17th Seoul International Senior Film Festival. He won the Ledo Matteoli Award for Best Immigrant Story at the 58th Humboldt International Film Festival. Yoontaek continues to blur the line between fiction and nonfiction, connecting people through honest, personal storytelling.
